Zen-Whoberi is a mentioned-only location in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. The homeworld of Gamora, it was destroyed long ago by Thanos.
Story[]
Very little is known about the planet, only that it was inhabited by the alien race known as the Zen-Whoberi. Sometime prior to 7786 (at least a decade, or so), the Zen-Whoberi were eradicated by the Mad Titan, Thanos, and presumably his army. Gamora was the sole surviving child of the alien race. Favored by Thanos, he raised her as a perfect assassin alongside an adopted sister, Nebula.
Gameplay[]
Zen-Whoberi does not appear in-game. However, it is alluded to in Gamora's Galactic Compendium entry, albeit indirectly, and mentioned by name (listed as her origin) in her Nexus criminal file, which can be read during Chapter 7: Canine Confusion.
Trivia[]
- Its location is unknown in this continuity, but in the comics, it is part of the Silicon star system somewhere within the Milky Way Galaxy.
- The fate of the Zen-Whoberi reflects Gamora's backstory in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which was later adapted by the comics. Originally, the Universal Church of Truth were responsible for the slaughter twenty years into the future, with Gamora rescued by a time-travelling Thanos. After rewriting history due to Magus' defeat, they were killed by the Badoon in the past. Currently, their massacre is attributed to Thanos and his Butcher Squadron to leave a message to Magus.
