Voxiplodes are creatures in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. They are Rigellian bioweapons created during the Galactic War.

A ball-like creature with spikes and four eyes. The larger purple ones release smaller green Voxiplodes if they get destroyed. Usually, these attack in swarms.
Gameplay[]
The Guardians encounter this monster for the first time during Chapter 1: A Risky Gamble in the Quarantine Zone. They can appear again in Chapter 10: Test of Faith if the player has Peter say he hears them past the fog ahead of him.
In battle, they can only attack by leaping at Star-Lord. They can be quickly dispatched by blaster fire and instantly killed with a single melee attack. A tougher and larger green variant does appear occasionally, though that too takes a lot of damage from Peter's kicks.

Voxiplodes were created in a Rigellian bioweapon lab as an efficient way to disable an enemy ship from the inside. A hull-breaching bore-missile delivered the payload and unleashed havoc upon the unsuspecting crew.
The voxiplode's method of locomotion is extremely simple: dropping and rolling along its gelatinous, thorny surface. It has an eye on each of its faces used to locate enemy life forms, but also to spot and coordinate with others of its kind. A voxiplode swarm is capable of significant damage. Its deadliest trait, however, is its ability to reform into more voxiplodes if it is torn into pieces, adding more numbers to its horde.
The Rigellians underestimated the resilience of their creatures, causing significant post-war complications after the Galactic War ended and cleanup began.
