The Quill Farm is a location in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Located in St. Charles, Missouri, this rural farm was built by Gene and Molly Quill, and later inherited by Meredith Quill. As such it is Peter Quill's childhood home.

Characteristics

The property consists of a two-story white farmhouse, a multi-bladed windpump, and grain fields. At the entrance, a mail box with "Meredith Quill" painted over it welcomes visitors, with tire tracks that lead to the side of the house. A red tractor and a blue 1980 Chevy C10 Scottsdale pickup are parked outside. One of the more robust trees has a tire swing.

From the front door, one enters the hall where Kubrick usually is sleeping that leads into the other rooms via arch ways. To its right is a staircase and the living room with a fireplace, a TV, paintings of birds, and coffee table. To its left is the dining room; both the hall and the dining room are connected to the kitchen. The latter room has a dome-shaped lamp hanging above a wooden round table and three chairs, a fridge and other electronics, and potted plants. There is a back door that leads to the outside, a door into a laundry room and another door with a wooden staircase that leads into the basement.

Peter's room is located there. It is full of 1980s memorabilia, and is furnished with a bed and bedside table, a sofa and a coffee table, four shelves, two desks, a trash can, a ColecoVision console and a television. Walls are decorated with posters for Tron, The Lost Starwalker, Space Exploration Academy, Samantha Fox, Funda, the Space Rider album, Caves & Creatures, FurThings, the Helheim's Coils album, Nukegame, The Space Shuttle Adventure, along with miscellaneous photos. He has a collection of LP records, a white Gibson Flying V guitar with two loudspeakers, and a box with baseball cards. Games include Moonspell, Goodies & Baddies, darts, a skateboard, a Rubic's cube, and the gamebook Deathtrap Dungeon.

Next to it is a bathroom and, in front of it, a small cellar-like room with a fridge (its door is open). The rest of the basement stores a damaged piano, a workbench, and cleaning products; a "Beware of Raccoon" sign decorates a wall, and a has a secondary living room area with a sofa, a coffee table, one armchair and three folding chairs. A red tricycle and sleeping bag can also be found there.

The hall's staircase to the first floor is decorated with family photos. The floor has a spacious bathroom with a tub, a bedroom that belonged to Gene and Molly, a small office where Mereith keeps her certificates, alien sightings clippings and telescope, and her own bedroom.

Gameplay

The Quill Farm is a setting during the Prologue and later in Chapter 3: The Cost of Freedom, when Peter has a flashback on Seknarf Nine on the bridge to Lady Hellbender's Fortress. During the prologue only Peter's room is available to interact with, but in Chapter 3, the players can walk around the house and talk more with Meredith.

The location is used again in a dream at the end of Chapter 6: Between a Rock and a Hard Place and picks up where the events of the flashback in Chapter 3 ended. Finally, in Chapter 8: The Matriarch, Peter is caught in The Promise, which takes him back to the farm.

THE QUILL FARM

Originally built by Gene and Molly Quill, this humble Earth farm in St. Charles, Missouri, produced and sold grain to the local communit. It was inherited by their daughter, Meredith, who raised her son, Peter, on the property. While the family lived a relatively simple life, neighbors reported two separate incidents of unusual disturbances such as loud noises and bright lights. In a police report of the first occurrence, Meredith confessed to holding a large rock music party in the back field. The hundreds of reports of the second occurrence have all been heavily redacted and reveal no details.

• Among other things, Peter has a Rolling Stone issue about Star-Lord, Bopsi cans, magazine issues of Video Game Power and Bike Rider, and Star-Lord: Space Rider.
• Presumably, Peter's LP record collection includes all albums on his jukebox playlist. Visible are Iron Maiden's Piece of Mind ("Where Eagles Dare") and the fictional Helheim's Coils.
• Around the ColecoVision console, the video game boxes and cartridges are real: Cosmic Avenger, Space Fury, Frenzy, Gateway to Apshai, and Imagic's Wing War. There is also his Pac-Man-themed birthday cake.
• In the hall are logo patches for White Vyper and Led Blimb.
