Perks list in the menu.

Perks are a gameplay mechanic in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy through which the player can improve Peter Quill's equipment, greatly enhancing his performance during combat.

Overview[]

There are 15 Perks in total. For the most part, Perks provide upgrades to Star-Lord's equipment—his Element Guns, Visor, Jet Boots, and suit—that make him deadlier and safer in combat, but it also benefits other mechanics like material gathering and environmental analysis, making them Perks a must-have regarding game progression. Unlike the elemental shot abilities, Perks are carried over to a New Game Plus playthrough.[1]

Crafting Perks can be done on any of the Workbenches scattered throughout the game with Rocket's help, including one on the Milano. Upon activation of these spots, available Perks are displayed; by holding (A), the player asks Rocket to craft it. However, crafting requires specific Components, which come in two types: Basic and Advanced Components. Players thus must to explore their surroundings, destroying environmental objects and taking alternate pathways, to find these materials. The Components Localizer upgrade will help locate components as well, alerting a player whenever these materials are nearby.
