Gameplay[]
One of these beasts can be seen caged in Lady Hellbender's Fortress in Chapter 4: The Monster Queen. Later on, the Guardians get the opportunity to fight against the Mushiiger while exploring Maklu IV during Chapter 13: Against All Odds.

The Makluvian mushiiger is a vile beast covered in venomous pustules, a natural defense system to keep the planet's many mega-predators from eating it. Its prime defensive tool becomes a weapon as it seeks to spray its victims with the same venom, melting down the flesh for easier consumption.
Due to the amount of fluids near the surface of its skin, the mushiiger must expend an exceptional amount of energy to keep from freezing. Although not apparent to the naked eye, the beast is constantly shivering with such controlled, tiny movements that it stays warm. As a result, it is perpetually hungry.
