Meredith Quill is a supporting character in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. She is the mother of Peter Quill. A normal woman from Earth, she met and fell in love with a man who allegedly came from outer space.

Background

Meredith got three certificates; she is a certified master farmer. The Rifle Association of America certified her as an instructor and she has an award by the Equine Studies Institute, with a professional certification as a horse trainer. On Peter's thirteenth birthday, Chitauri invaded the farm and killed Meredith, and abducted Peter.

Personality

Meredith is a caring, loving and hard-working farmer, horse trainer, rifle instructor, and housewife. She also is a fan of rock and roll.

Gameplay

Meredith Quill appears in the prologue during a one of Peter Quill's flashbacks. At the beginning of the game, her name is scribbled on a mail box with the farm house in the background. She appears later in scenes with the young Peter.

Players receive the "Mama's Boy" trophy after defeating a delusion of her.

Records

MEREDITH QUILL

Meredith Quill lived in a small Terran territory named "Missouri." She was the only child of Gene and Molly Quill, rural farmers who gifted her their property when they retired. Meredith had some success with the farm but spent much of her time in the wild hunting for game. She was an expert marksman and had even won several competitions. It was deep in the woods where she reportedly met a wounded traveler and offered him aid.

Meredith nursed this unknown man back to health and the two ended up romantically entwined. When he disappeared soon after, he left Meredith pregnant. She raised her son, Peter Jason Quill, by herself.

Meredith became an ardent believer in extraterrestrial life, U.F.O.s, and conspiracy theory. She even published an Earth "zine" called "WE KNOW YOU'RE LISTENING." Never realizing, in fact, that somebody was.

• Although the Galactic Compendium lists Meredith's first comic appearance as Marvel NOW! Point One #1, the character first appeared in Marvel Preview #4 (1976), like Peter.
• In the Quill household, a trophy reveals that she once bowled a perfect game.
