Mercury is a major location in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. The first planet in the Sol system, it served as a battleground during the Galactic War and is the place where Ko-Rel and Peter Quill met twelve years ago.

- The importance of Mercury in the game's lore is a nod to the comics: Nikki Gold's (whose origin and parentage are focal points in the narrative) main counterpart is from here, and part of the Mercurian race, biologically engineered humans able to withstand Mercury's environment.
