Development[]

According to Eidos-Montréal's senior audio director Steve Szczepkowski, the music is infused in the DNA of the game, and that their use of it goes far beyond usual expectations. Bringing Peter Quill's favorite band to life, Szczepkowski was inspired to create the band and album upon hearing the origins of how Quill first became known as Star-Lord.[3] Szczepkowski made a list of about 10 high level topics, such as family, and standing up against the odds; as he started writing, especially the lyrics, he found he was putting himself into it and finally embraced it, saying, "Well, I guess I'm really doing a record."[4]
