Maklu IV is a location in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. An ice planet with an asteroid belt, many Katathians went here to challenge the mighty Fin Fang Foom, who is rumored to live here.

Characteristics[]

Notable is the red rock, coniferous forests and the odd rectancular ice plates, which also orbit the planet. Maklu IV seems to be constantly hit by a smaller rain of comets, which also causes some instability of the planet's structures. A lot of Katathian hunt markers can be found on its surface.

Animal skeletons litter the surface of the planet, such as that of the janaktara soom darata (or "nocturnal eviscerator"). Various plants also grow on Maklu IV, especially notable is the Makluvian Spore-Spitter, a fungus-like plant with the ability to release toxic fumes if a creature approaches it, and the Makluvian Deeproot.

Places of interest include Ruby Thursday's destroyed camp, a S.W.O.R.D. ship wreckage, and the Korkralax monolith.

Gameplay[]

The Guardians visit Maklu IV during Chapter 13: Against All Odds on their search for the powerful dragon Fin Fang Foom. During battle, they encounter Mushiigers, Wendigos, Avalogs and Ice Wuruums.

Items that can be found on Maklu IV are Xatar's Blade and Deeproot Plant. If Peter picks them up, he can find it later in Drax and Groot's quarters on the Milano and each will trigger a conversation. Three archives can be picked up as well: Wendigone!, Unsent: Major Setback, and The End of My Hunt.

MAKLU IV

Maklu IV is a deep-frozen planet with enough deadly weather to keep all but the bravest travelers away. If the frigid winds did not kill you, perhaps the asteroid belt forever raining fire upon Maklu's surface will do the trick. Or maybe the extremely lethal venomous plant? Recent reports also mention that flesh-eating ape men have entered the food chain, somewhere in the middle tiers. The planet's rumored apex predator is none other than Fin Fang Foom, a legendary Kakarantharan dragon.

With the destruction wrought by the Galactic War, Maklu IV became a popular destination for Katathian pilgrims, seeking to hunt its great beasts to die with purpose and honor. Their hunt markers litter the planet, now serving as tombstones.
