Lipless, real name unknown, is a original supporting character in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. A notorious smuggler and thief, he is a member of the Headmen and associate of Ruby Thursday. Somehow he also knows Peter Quill, much to the latter's confusion.
Background[]
Not much is known about Lipless' past. Lipless evaded arrest after the Nova Corps raided multiple flophouses on Mah Lillia and has remained elusive, only appearing to be working with his new partner: Ruby Thursday, who currently works in the Andromeda system.

Gameplay[]
During Chapter 6: Between a Rock and a Hard Place, players can meet Lipless in Mantlo's Bar, where Lipless will remind Peter Quill about their great times together. Lipless will then threaten Peter with a blaster to sing along to 'their' song "Storm Riders"; if their 'old' friendship is reinstated, Peter will receive the Collector's Emporium Ticket from Lipless.
Records[]
His real name unknown, "Lipless" is a notorious Rydoctylan smuggler with an ever-growing list of arrest warrants. Nova Corps once targeted him on Mah Lillia, but he somehow eluded their flophouse raids. Recently he's shifted his focus towards trafficking in rare animal bones and illustrious hides. Lipless sells to everyone from renowned artists to galactic royalty, all under the table, of course.
Rumor has it that the master smuggler has secured lucrative deals with the Collector himself, which greatly increases the risk involved. It would account for his recent dealings with the Headmen interstellar poaching operation.
Rydoctylans are known for their mercurial temperament, caused by the rapid evolutionary process on Rydoctyla. Predators and prey swap roles within a couple hundred cycles, leading to very malleable brain development. Lipless is no exception. He murders friends as fast as he makes them and is best avoided.

NOTES: The Rydoctylan known only as "Lipless" is a well-known smuggler who frequents Mantlo's Bar in the Knowhere space port. Lipless fled Mah Lilia when Nova Corps agents raided illegal flophouses there and arrested their proprietors.
Lipless has remained inactive for several rotations following the arrests, only resurfacing recently with a new business partner: the notorious poacher, Ruby Thursday. Her illegal outfit, "The Headmen," is reportedly operating out of the Andromeda system.

Trivia[]
- Lipless and Kammy are the only original (major) characters within the game.
- Voice actor Alex Ivanovici also voices Cosmo in the game.
- According to Director Jean-Francois Dugas, when they first started working on the game, they needed a proof of concept. So, they built a rescue scenario which would end at a bar, getting information about the missing kid (actually, a baby goat) with a karaoke scene as a "battle of wits". Originally it was well-know 80s rock song, but they invented a new one so that, just like Peter, the player would have to wing it. It helped them find their comedic narrative tone. When work on the game began in earnest, they wanted to keep the scene, but there was no place in the main story until they started developing Knowhere. As for Lipless, he was one of three alien poachers for the demo, whom they chose to give prominence because he was visually "weird", which matched the Guardians as "really bizarre and out there".[2]
