Centurion Kar-Los is a minor character in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy who was among the many members of the Nova Corps who accepted the Promise on the Rock.

Personality

Prior to conversion, little is known about Kar-Los outside of his attempts at creative writing. He is a poor writer who seems more interested in aggrandizing himself and satisfying his fantasies of a romance with the Worldmind than in bettering his craft.

After converting, Kar-Los is a soft-spoken and devout fanatic willing to kill anyone who rejects the Promise in cold blood. This even extends to his comrades from during the Galactic War, who he slaughters with help from his fellow converts. He is less upfront about his goals and his ill-intent than those converted later in the game, waiting to tell Peter and the Guardians about the Promise until after his men have cornered them with guns drawn.

Gameplay

Kar-Los is fought in Chapter 5: Due or Die, though he doesn't differ in abilities or health from your average Nova grunt. Before this, he can be heard checking in with the Novas on their progress in spreading the faith. Should the player have Peter interrupt their conversation to jump into the channel and contact them, Kar-Los and a squad of Nova police will visit the Guardians location and tell them to join the Universal Church of Truth. The player will have the option to flee or press for more information. Fleeing will start a fight immediately, while pressing for information only delays the battle until the Guardians realize the door is locked behind them.
