Gene Quill is a minor character in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. He is the father of Meredith Quill and the grandfather of Peter Quill. Gene and his wife Molly owned the Quill Farm, located in Missouri, USA.

Background

A farmer from Earth, Gene Quill married Molly and had a single daughter, Meredith. As rural farmers, Gene and his wife built their humble farm in St. Charles, Missouri, where they produced and sold grain to the local community. When they retired, the property was inherited by Meredith.

It is unknown whether Gene and Molly knew about the stranger Meredith got romantically involved with and was the father of their grandchild, Peter. However, Gene and Molly loved their grandson, and would sometimes let him sleep with them if he was too afraid down in the basement. Gene also promised to show Peter how to shoot in the summer. Before he could, Gene passed away sometime prior to Peter's thirteenth birthday.

Gameplay

During Chapter 3: The Cost of Freedom and Chapter 6: Between a Rock and a Hard Place, Peter mentions both of his grandparents when he interacts with Kubrick, a photo of them by the stairs, the piano, or their old bedroom.

Trivia

• Gene used to play the piano on the farm a lot when Meredith was young, but the instrument has been busted ever since Peter can remember.
