The Flora Colossi are a species in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Plant-like beings from Planet X, they were all destroyed by the Chitauri Empire during the Galactic War. Their only known survivor is Groot.

Background

Planet X was destroyed by the Chitauri in the Galactic War. Groot was a pilot at this time, whose ship was hit by the destruction. The Collector searched the location and recovered Groot's remains. The piece Tivan found, grew into a small sapling, which then was stolen by Rocket. Groot grew up and became a full member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Traits

Flora Colossi are large bipedal beings with humanoid as well as plant-like features, covered by thick bark from head to toe. They can control and grow roots to hold objects or to use them to move around, and have astounding healing abilities. They speak Taluhnisan.

Gameplay

During Chapter 6: Between a Rock and a Hard Place, Peter can visit the Collector's Emporium on Knowhere and see an item labeled "Monster from Planet X" in a showcase.

MONSTER FROM PLANET X

This one hurts. I used to be in possession of the galaxy's last Flora Colossi, the sole survivor of Planet X's destruction. The enormous plant creature called itself Groot. Often. During its escape, I was able to sever and retain a small piece of its wooden body. You may see a simple sprout. I see the potential to regrow my lost prize, though he will be far less precious with the original running loose.
