Components are items in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy that are spread across all the levels in the game. Rocket can use them on a Workbench to improve Peter Quill's Boots, Visor, Suit and Element Guns with Perks.
There are two kinds of components to be found in the game, the Basic Components and Advanced Components. The basic ones look more cylindrical and are also more common, while the spherical, advanced components, are rather rare.
Most perks will need both types of components, and only a few just need the basic ones. See more here on Perks.
Locations[]
Generally speaking, most of the components lie on the way, when Peter and the crew roam through the levels. But like with the collectibles and the outfits, Peter also can find components in hidden locations.
