Chandilar is a mentioned-only location in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. The capital world of the mighty Shi'ar Empire, it is the birthplace of Malik Tarcel.
Story[]
Sometime before or during the Galactic War, an accomplished diplomat from Nova Corps, Centurion Malik Tarcel, was assigned to serve as a liaison to this planet.
After the collapse of the Kree Empire—its most important world, Kree-Lar, devastated by Chitauri forces around 7787[2]—, Tarcel managed to broker a tenuous alliance with Lilandra, who saw an opportunity to expand her empire. However, shortly after, an unknown agent of Thanos made an assassination attempt on both Tarcel and Lilandra. Tarcel died during the encounter; afterward, the Majestrix rejected the alliance.[1]
Characteristics[]
Designated as the Throneworld of the Shi'ar Empire, the planet serves as the seat of Majestrix Lilandra and her High Council. It is populated by the Shi'ar species.
Gameplay[]
In the game, the planet is only mentioned in the Nexus personnel file of Malik Tarcel, which the Guardians can read while exploring the Hala's Hope during Chapter 7: Canine Confusion.
