The Caves of Lamentis are a major location in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. This dangerous place, guarded by the Cotati species, houses the five Great Mysteries of Lamentis.

The Caves of Lamentis serve are a main area of exploration in Chapter 10: Test of Faith. Mantis tries to help the Guardians to free Drax from the Matriarch's influence. Inside the caves several tests await the team, including new common enemies (Ogrodes, Common Barbwings) and old in the form of the shapeshifting Fog Creatures.
During exploration, a mysterious figure will make a cameo. Two archives, A Foggy Theory and Pip's Quips, can be found in this location.

Scans of the winding cave system beneath Lamentis' surface reveal a scientific impossibility: they appear to weave their way entirely through the core of the planet. The conundrum has attracted the attention of many researchers, but the Cotati who guard the caves were forbid visitors. The only existing accounts of the tunnels come from the Priests of Pama during their initial exploration. However, their journals are of little help since the writings are generally cryptic and focused on prophecy rather than geology.
The priests do note some evidence of an ancient civilization in the caves, but they do not elaborate. If one ignores the wilder, more mythical warnings about the caves, there are enough descriptions of Lamentis' various cave predators to discourage trespass.
