The Brood are a parasitic race in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Taneleer Tivan used to possess a specimen of a Brood Queen in his Collector's Emporium (which can be visited during Chapter 6: Between a Rock and a Hard Place), but it escaped.

BROOD QUEEN
You see before you the deadliest of specimens taken from Broodworld, an infant queen embryo extracted from her unfortunate host. Within that armored skull lies a fully-developed, predatory brain, eager to conquer us all and use our bodies as breeding grounds for her parasitic spawn. I assure you she is heavily sedated and quite harmless now, but please do not tap on the glass.
