The Avengers are an organization in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. They are a group of superheroes who operate on Earth, presumably led by Captain America.
Gameplay[]
The Avengers do not make a physical appearance in the game but during the Guardians' journey through the Continuum Cortex in Chapter 7: Canine Confusion, one of the portals allows them to hear the voices of both Hulk and Captain America, the latter of whom is heard rallying the Avengers.
Before assaulting the Universal Church of Truth, Gamora suggests contacting heroes from Earth for backup, but Peter debunks the idea stating that Earth does not possess the capabilities of the rest of the galaxy.
Trivia[]
- Thor, also mentioned in the game, is generally a member of the team. However, no connection has been established in this continuity, so his inclusion remains to be confirmed.
- The triangles in the Continuum Cortex are windows into other realities. While this game is a different continuity from any of the Avengers and Spider-Man games, comics, or movies, the team thought it would be cool that in a sense they could be. Originally, it was intended for the player to see inside (e.g. the Avengers in action) but, due to production constraints, they opted for audio nods as a 'reduced' version.[1]
