The Asgardians are a mentioned only species in Marvels guardians of the galaxy . A powerful and respected race the Asgardians are one of the Universes oldest species . Notable among them are their King Odin gatekeeper Heimdall and The god of thunder Thor .

Whilst no Asgardians appear in the game they are mentioned frequently throughout the story . In Chapter 1 Rocket compares Kammy to a wild Asgardian beast . In the Collectors Emporium Hofund the former sword of Heimdall and the key to the bifrost is shown on display notably being shattered and stained with the blood of the beast Mangog . Another item the Blade of Ichor is noted to have belonged to the warrior Angela who is alleged to have been Asgardian . Thor is mentioned by the plaques on both Throg and Frogjolnir as being the indirect reason for the strange creatures existence with the Collector even saying he would like to have Mjiolnir in his possesion
